Margaret uses a music notation reading system that develops music reading fluency and increases spatial IQ.
She gives music training that includes vocal pitch matching and singing.
She uses rhythm training on drums with integration of math concepts.
Some of the learning areas that are worked on are:
Visual discrimination training,
Auditory discrimination training,
Visual / Auditory / Motor integration training,
as well as Visual and Auditory memory training.
Margaret Germain offers piano lessons in her home studio near LaMarque Elementary School in North Port, or at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Siesta Key, Sarasota. Music lessons are also offered on guitar, voice, and drums.
Margaret started teaching piano when she was 15 years old, and was fortunate to study with Frances Larimer, noted piano pedagogist, while at Northwestern. It was this early training and the combination of studying music and the learning process that led to the method that Margaret now uses with her students. Much of her educational training focused on overcoming learning difficulties by using the latest educational research techniques to retrain a student's brain. By integrating these techniques into her music teaching, Margaret is able to teach fluency of music reading and musicality, as well as to help her students learn better in all areas of school.
