Margaret E. Germain, B. Music Ed., Northwestern University, performing musician, music teacher, and homeschool mom of a teen age son, has written a book specifically for homeschool families. It is a complete course of homeschool music lesson plans for young children through fifth grade. It covers all the basic principles of music and how to teach them to your home schooled children. It includes a section on teaching music reading for fluency and beginning keyboard and recorder playing. There is an audio CD set that further explains how to do the lessons.

Sing! Play! Listen and Learn! Is designed to lay the foundation of music skills necessary for them to be able to participate in music activities later in life. It is written so that the homeschool parent who is not a musician can teach basic music skills to their children. This book can be used alone to fulfill homeschool music class requirements, or as a preparation for, or along with, formal private music lessons.

Margaret has taught private piano lessons to hundreds of children over a period of 30 years. She also taught public and private school classroom music and chorus for nine years. She is a certified music teacher and special ed. teacher. Margaret is a pianist, organist, harpist, and singer, and is the Director of Music at St. Michael the Archangel Church on Siesta Key, Sarasota, Fl. Margaret is married to portrait artist, Chuck Barber and is the homeschool mom of their teenage son, Benjamin Germain Barber.
